Collaborative Working Group

Dear Vilas neighbors,

The Vilas Neighborhood Association, together with the Dudgeon-Monroe Neighborhood Association, has accepted an invitation from the Edgewood High School Board of Trustees to join a new collaborative working group (CWG) process focused on Edgewood’s proposals for its athletic complex.  Per Edgewood’s invitation, the CWG is intended to last between 8-12 weeks, tentatively scheduled to start the week of March 25th.  The discussions will be led by an experienced facilitator.  The stated objective of the CWG is to “Jointly identify areas of concern and collaboratively craft solutions.”

Typically, Edgewood has engaged the VNA through the standing Edgewood Liaison Committee.  VNA’s two reps to that committee this year are Jon Standridge and Sarah Bahauddin.  This working group appears to be sort of an adjunct of that committee, expanding the number of stakeholders around the table to tackle this particular issue.  As VNA President, I have also been invited to attend the meetings together with Jon and Sarah.  As this dialogue gets underway, and the structure, possibilities, and limitations of this process become clearer, Jon, Sarah, and I will look for ways to seek neighborhood thoughts and ideas to bring back to the working group.

Here is the letter that VNA received from the Edgewood High School Board of Trustees.

Thanks,

Chris Kelly

VNA President
